Photography workshops Moravian Tuscany

Discover an area of uniquely undulating landscape, shaped by nature and man. Discover the unknown beauties of South Moravia, discover the ripples, groves, chapels, bio-belts and vineyards in the area rightly called Moravian Tuscany.

For the fifth year we offer an extended workshop format. We have added evening photography on Sunday and morning photography on Monday. This has increased the number of morning and evening shoots by a full 50%!

What are we going to show you?

Our goal is to show the participants of the workshop the beauty of Moravian Tuscany, including how to find the right compositions and the right time to photograph them. However, we want to make the most of the opportunities and possibilities that will be offered on the given date. Therefore, the workshop programme below is only indicative, each day we will adapt to the weather, light and the ever-changing conditions of the spring or autumn fields as good landscape photographers.

We know the landscape of Moravian Tuscany perfectly.

In the theoretical part we will show and explain what makes photography in Moravian Tuscany unique and how it differs from other landscapes. We will explain what physical factors make the waves in the photographs so amazing.

Moreover, we are the only ones who have been intensively promoting the Moravian Tuscany region to the general public for six years. We have spent thousands of hours selecting photos, writing texts, searching maps, preparing Facebook posts, preparing the annual photo contest, preparing lectures, calendars and, most recently, postcards. We don't want to just "mine" the area. We really love Moravian Tuscany and invest in it the most precious thing we have - our time!

Day 1 (Friday): 15:00 - 17:00 meeting time depends on the time of the year, check-in, first evening photo session
Day 2 (Saturday): morning photo shoot, photography theory, visit interesting locations, evening photo shoot, sitting with photos and wine
Day 3 (Sunday): morning photo shoot, practical exercises, visit interesting locations, evening photo shoot, sitting with photos and wine
Day 4 (Monday): Morning photo shoot, 9:00 am end of workshop

Recommended gear

- mirrorless or DSLR with interchangeable lenses
- lens(es) with a focal length of 70mm or more, ideally a 100-400mm lens on a full-frame body
- proper tripod and remote trigger (cable, IR, BT)
- graduated ND filters are an advantage, but not strictly necessary
- field shoes and a plastic bag or sack to put them in after changing

Transportation

You can travel to the workshop venue by your own car or by public transport. At the Place, we will arrange then we travel by as few cars as possible. It is a good practice to agree with the owner of the vehicle to share the cost.

If you will be travelling by public transport, you can take advantage of a free carpool from Brno and on the day of the workshop also travel to Brno. Please note that this offer is limited to the number of seats in the car and is valid only for the first registrants.

Accommodation

For the participants of the workshop, we arrange accommodation reservations in the Moravian Tuscany area, so that it is not necessary to travel long distances for the photo shoot. Double rooms are reserved, any request for a separate room must be notified at registration. However, we cannot guarantee a separate room, you need to ask. There's a better chance if you register early, there's less chance at the last minute...

If your accommodation requirements are higher, you can arrange your own accommodation and commute to the morning meeting. You can find hotels in Kyjov, Čejkovice and Velké Bílovice.

Meals

We have breakfast together at the guesthouse after returning from the morning shoot. Depending on the current offer of the guesthouse, we will either use the breakfast offered by the guesthouse (about 130 CZK) or we will have the opportunity to buy from the baker or in the shop. Lunch and dinner by agreement in the restaurant, or we can order delivery to the guesthouse.
